About the Festival
Thunderclap Productions’ first New Works Festival celebrates the work of five local playwrights and composer/lyricists. This one-night-only performance will give audiences a glimpse into new works in progress by Houston-area creatives. This New Works Festival is funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.
The festival is slated to include these works/excerpts:
- Aaron Alon: Excerpts from his musicals The Great White Way; The Bert Williams Musical and The Chosen Ones
- Alric Davis: Excerpts from his play Holy Ordinary
- Lizzie Guest: The Houston premiere of her play Swipe
- Eric Jones: Excerpts from his musicals Fired!, American Skin, Podium, and Three Crosses
- Neil Ellis Orts: Excerpts from his play Jacob’s People
Run Details
- Performances at Matchbox 1 at the MATCH (Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston)
- One Night Only: June 21, 2025 at 7:30PM
- Tickets are $25 ($15 for students). The performance is recommended for teens and adults.
- Run Duration: ca. 2 hours, including an intermission (tentative)
