About the Musical
Thunderclap Productions presents the world premiere of The Chosen Ones, a riveting new musical by Aaron Alon. Heart-wrenching, hilarious, and ultimately unforgettable, the show follows a group of LGBTQ+ teens in a conversion therapy summer camp, led by an “ex-gay” minister. The Chosen Ones is a timely story of living authentically and finding your chosen family, even when the world tells you not to. This world premiere is part of our John Steven Kellett Memorial Series of works relating to LGBTQ+ equity. It will be directed and choreographed by Aisha Ussery and music directed by Phillip D. Hall.

Run Details
- World Premiere
- Performances at Matchbox 3 at the MATCH (Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston)
- Runs Aug. 28-Sept. 6
- Tickets are $25 ($15 for students), except on Aug. 28, a Pay-What-You-Can Preview, and Sept. 1, where theatre industry professionals can also buy $15 tickets. The performance is recommended for teens and adults (but note the content warning).
- Run Duration: 2½ hours, including one 15-minute intermission
